How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your workplace.?

I think this oculd be very useful in my workplace as it lists shopping sites,booksites,library news.

How can Libraries use Rss or take advantage of this new technology.?

To explore new sites and find out as much information as they can for borrowers.

Yes I found quite a few.

Week 14 Twitter

I have tried to do a few tweets but dont really like it.I prefer facebook.We do not have a twitter account at our library and im sure it would be of no use to us.Will let the boss decide on that one.I did not understand the microblogging at all.I dont think I would get to like it maybe if I worked on it a bit more it may get better but very doubtful.I enjoyed reading all the posts and found a post from 1 of our local librarians amongst them.Well done Maggie Trindall.My Twitter name is JanelleVB.

Training Day

I am in Tamworth today for Web 2.1 training with April.I still cant get the gist of thesew web things but hopefully after today it will seem straightforward.

Week 14 Twitter

I joined Twitter previously and didnt quite make any gist of it.But going ov er the revision I can see now what Twitter is about.I like the tweets that deal with music,movies,library information and what is happening in the world today.

Week 16 Evaluation

I am up to the evaluation and I am stuck.I joined Survey Monkey.I set up google alerts to go to my hotmail account daily.I found this to be very interesting to read about what is happening in my shire .But some of the information given is pretty much outdated.This section was pretty hard but hopefully what I did was correct.Hopefully the next ones wont be as hard.I think google alerts could be useful for people wanting information on our shire if they come into our workplace.

Week 17 Nings

Withs Nings I joined Museum 3 but when I tried to join Library 2.0 it would not let me join as it needed a website library url for my workplace which we dont have.I had a look around museum 3 and invited friends to join me.I had 1 personm invite me so I accepted him as a friend.This could be quite useful in our workplace.

Week 18 Slideshows,screencasting and Digital storytelling

With this section we could not get the online tutorial to work.I did join upstream and slideshare.These I think will come in very useful.I will try to view the online tutorial at a later date.

Week 19 Productivity

This one could be quite useful if I check it regularly.I would like to add it to my google account as suggested by bloggersbeware.It will save alot of time when looking up things on the internet that I am interested in.

Week 20 Event Management

I found week 20 to be a fun and real interesting context.I created an event for my grandsons 2nd birthday party.This couuld come in very handy.It will be very useful for people who host lots of parties or meetings.I found evenbrite to be the best in this section.But will take alook around all the others at another time.

Survey

I completed the Web 2.1 survey.I found this course harder then the first one but some very interesting facts while achieving it.Some of the contents we will probably use in our library while some are more useful on home computers.I was very dissappointed to find a few of my blogs that I had posted did not go to my blogspot.We need sad face icons :( .

Week 15 Delicious

With the delicious section.All we really did was connect my twitter and delicious accounts.I searcehed a few sites where I thought this may help in my workplace but couldnt find anything that was even close.

Week 24 The dark side of the web

Well here I am at week 24.It seems that all my blogs that I have posted have not been put on my wall.So now im at a loss as to where and what I do next.Not happy Jan.Off to fill in survey and hopefully my missing blogs turn up .

This is another style of mash up that I searched the web for .It has information on Narrabri,which is my home town.It gives information and statistics but I found that the info is a bit outdated.

Week 22 Instant Communication

This is one topic that I feel comfortable with.I use Facebook for instant messaging,although this doesnt have web cam it can be useful to keep in contact with friends and relatives.I find the small chatbox quite annoying.I have used Skype but not for along time.This i find is excellent source of instant messaging and chatting with relatives and friends especially overseas ones.I also chat on yahoo and msn messenger while these have web cam features also along with skype.I am sure alot of people will enjoy this.I dont think that these will be very useful in our library though.

Week 21 Google Docs

This I found will come in very useful for any person who is interested in doing computer courses.It will also be very helpful for students doing university courses.I bookmarked this in Delicious.
